Oswego

Thank God and NOAA that we pressed forward and are now done with the open water portion is behind us, and we are now into the canal system for awhile. The much forecasted rain and strong winds have finally caught up with us.
We are now a day ahead of schedule, so we decided to sit tight and spend a day onshore exploring Oswego rather than start into the Oswego and Erie canals into Syracuse.
In the morning we watched a couple to mega yachts (100 ft +) remove their tops so that they can transit the Oswego and Erie canals. I cannot imagine piloting one of those thru the canals.
The day cleared up a little and we walked Ft Ontario and got a little history lesson
as well as some great view of the harbor entrance.
Later Lois walked into town to shop and look for treasures, while I napped and cleaned the boat.
All in all a nice day to relax and catch up with our adventures so far.
