Change Over
Fri, 9/22/06
Brewerton (Syracuse), NY
0 mi.
Today is a layover and change over day.
Lois left this morning.

I'll miss her, but I have lot's of good people joining me all along the way.
The boatyard owner’s wife drove Lois to the Syracuse airport and dropped me off at the laundry to do my wash. As things work out a woman doing her wash at the same time was also a transient boater who was there selling their boat and driving back to Maine, so she gave me a ride back to the boatyard saving me a 1.5 mi walk back with my laundry over my shoulder. She also had lots of advice following living aboard for the last 10 yrs and sailing up and down the east coast from Canada to the Virgin Islands.
The rest of the day was spent in the boatyard cleaning the boat.

This was long overdue, since I hadn’t really done it before we left Toledo. Also Brewertown doesn’t really have a lot to offer, and boatyards are more fun for me anyway.
Amanda & Jason arrived around 7:00 PM and we had pizza delivered, unpacked, and settled in. I’m really glad they are here, and am looking forward to having them see this leg of the trip. I only hope the weather is decent.
